The Enneagram sins come from the Enneagram passions. The 7 deadly sins can be correlated to seven of the nine Enneagram types. The passions of the two remaining types are used to complete the Enneagram sins.
The 7 deadly sins correlate to the types as: 1-Anger (Wrath), 2-Pride, 4-Envy, 5-Avarice (Greed), 7-Gluttony, 8-Excess (Lust), and 9-Laziness (Sloth). The remaining two types are: 3-Deceit and 6-Fear.
The Enneagram type 1 sin or vice is anger (wrath). It corresponds to the Enneagram passion of anger with the antidote being the Enneagram virtue of serenity.
The Enneagram type 2 sin or vice is pride. It corresponds to the Enneagram passion of pride with the antidote being the Enneagram virtue of humility.
The Enneagram type 3 sin or vice is deceit. It corresponds to the Enneagram passion of deceit with the antidote being the Enneagram virtue of truthfulness.
The Enneagram type 4 sin or vice is envy. It corresponds to the Enneagram passion of envy with the antidote being the Enneagram virtue of equanimity.
The Enneagram type 5 sin or vice is avarice (greed). It corresponds to the Enneagram passion of avarice with the antidote being the Enneagram virtue of detachment (non-attachment).
The Enneagram type 6 sin or vice is fear. It corresponds to the Enneagram passion of fear with the antidote being the Enneagram virtue of courage.
The Enneagram type 7 sin or vice is gluttony. It corresponds to the Enneagram passion of gluttony with the antidote being the Enneagram virtue of sobriety.
The Enneagram type 8 sin or vice is excess (lust). It corresponds to the Enneagram passion of excess with the antidote being the Enneagram virtue of innocence.
The Enneagram type 9 sin or vice is laziness (sloth). It corresponds to the Enneagram passion of laziness with the antidote being the Enneagram virtue of action.
